Low-Loss Intrinsically Photosensitive Fiber

For Fabrication of FBGs
PS-1550-Y3

Low-Loss Intrinsically Photosensitive Fiber
  • No hydrogenation required to write deep gratings
  • Low splice loss to standard single mode fiber
  • Low birefringence

Applications

The PS-1550-Y3's high level of intrinsic photosensitivity allows for the writing of deep fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) without hydrogenation, making this product ideal for cost-sensitive applications such as FBG-based fiber optic sensors. StockerYale's PS-1550-Y3 fiber is also well suited for diverse telecom applications such as wavelength-division multiplexing, (WDM), add/drop modules, gain-flattening filters and dispersion-compensating filters. The fiber offers uniquely low losses (< 3 dB/km) and low birefringence. Splice losses of 0.05 dB per splice or less are easily achievable.
