Bend Insensitive Fiber

BIF-1550-L2, BIF-RC-1550-L2

  • Excellent geometric specifications
  • Reduced bend loss sensitivity versus standard telecom fibers
  • Good splicing performance
  • High strength
  • Available in a 125 µm and 80 µm clad diameter

StockerYale’s Bend Insensitive Fibers are designed for improved bend performance in reduced radius applications. The BIF-1550 series
has a moderately higher numerical aperture (NA) than standard
single-mode telecom fibers and offers improved bend performance
for applications in the 1550 nm range. Higher numerical aperture
fibers are available upon request to further reduce the sensitivity of
the fiber to bend loss.
